Meat, baked goods and Hardware. Main Street frequently looked this way in the early 1880s. Loading and unloading pack animals was a continuous operation. Louis Hohl bought Alling's Hardware in 1882 and became a grocer. He did not remain in business long; competition was keen, so he sought his fortune elsewhere.
